Return & AOCD

Tarl returned home tonight from a 3-day (extended into 6-day) trip to Idaho. I had the kids in the bath and was getting their pj's out when Tarl came walking up the stairs and startled me. We were SO thrilled for him to be home!!! I'll have him write later (I hope!) about his experiences while gone.

Just in case that doesn't happen here's a tidbit. He went up to Idaho Falls to do the written and athletic testing for the Bonneville County Police Department job interview. They sounded positive after his tests and told him they'd start doing the solo interviews in late Oct/Nov.

While Tarl was away it was a little quiet at night so as I worked on my many random projects and read my stories I liked to have some movies playing just to make noise.

Of course with my little OCD problem with association (I call it my AOCD), I got it into my head to start relating all the movies I watched. Originally it started with just one thing in each movie matched the next movie I watched, but then I started thinking how all the movies I'd been watching linked to each other. Of course, again with my OCD, I had to make a chart to help my visual side of things. I know I know, insert your eye rolls here. I can't help it. Associating things makes me giddy with delight. Seriously ask my friend I was talking to while making this. I was talking a mile a minute and giggling like a school girl.

August Movie Theme is...

Can you guess what all of these movies have in common? What do you think? I've dubbed this month 'Back To School' for our movie theme. So Tarl and I have been watching movies of schools. I love movie theme months!

Funny that this movie fit into the theme too! Some girl friends of mine, Michelle, Jamie, Holly, Sue, Rachael, and Kayla came over tonight for a movie night. I wish my house was bigger so I could have had more come cause I haven't seen all my gals in a while.

When we were on our trip in Washington some of the girls were quoting hilarious parts of this movie so I knew when I finally watched it I'd had to have them over. I gotta say, funny movies are so much better when there's more people laughing. Good times, good times!

Tagalicious

Here are the rules - Each player starts with seven random facts about them self. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their own seven things and then the rules. You need to choose seven people to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your blog!

(Well first off I just love to post pictures so even though this has nothing to do with the 'tag' here is a cute pic of my hubby and Kaly.)

1) Apparently I’ve deprived myself of reading for far too long. Granted I’ve read a few books over the years (mostly on ‘vacation’). I finished my last class at BYU and rewarded myself by going to the library and checking out several books. I knew if I did it before the semester ended I would never finish my homework. In the 4 weeks or so since school has been out, I have as of today, completed 13 novels.

2) My all time favorite TV show is Boy Meets World. Old school! My favorite candy bar used to be Snickers but I think within the last 5 years or so my liking (yes liking, not loving) for chocolate has gone from about 10% to 2%. I’m just not a big fan. My favorite food is hands down french-fries! My favorite drink is cran-raspberry with ginger ale mixed in. Mmm Ambrosia. My favorite color is purple now (thanks Melanie!) hence my girls’ wardrobe is mostly purple instead of pink.

3) It makes me really giddy to think of all the things that make me happy. In high school I even had a list taped on my desk in my room so I could always look at it. I remember it included things like green gum, Tarls cologne, the smell of rain, and french fries.

4) My husband struck it lucky. He never has to buy me jewelry for any occasion. My body is allergic to medal so the only jewelry you'll probably ever find me wearing is my wedding ring and MAYBE a watch (if I can find one that is made of the right stuff). If I wear any other type of medal I will literally turn red and start itching like crazy.

5) I don’t often admit to it because I know how many wives hate the Xbox but I am a gamer. My husband and I love to play xbox together as date nights, relaxing evenings after the kiddie’s have gone to bed or just to socialize with our little network of friends. In fact I’m such a gamer that my ‘gamerscore’ is actually about 50 pts higher than my husbands and about 3000 pts higher than the other 8 guys we play with. My favorite games are Ghost Recon 1&2, and Outpost Kaloki.

6) I am a big movie fan. I used to enjoy a much broader array of movie genres but these days (I blame all the pregnancies) my favorite by far are romantic comedies. Our movie collection isn’t huge but I still enjoy looking through our over 200 movies and being able to find something that interests me. I also have started picking out some likeable actors/actresses and even if the movie is sorta lame, I’ll watch it because I like the person. Some current favorites are Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, Tom Hanks, Matthew Machoney, Goldie Hawn, and Diane Keaton.

7) It makes me happy to associate things together, (sometimes even if it’s a stretch to make them fit). A few examples: I love the number 10, I got married on the 10th of January, my husbands birthday is on the 10th of July, my girls were both born on the 20th of the month, one April and on January (and ½ of 20 is...). When I was dating my husband I wanted to remember his 7 siblings unique names in order so I had to make up a song. When I asked my husband about me doing this he said he just remembers me having super crazy associations like (this isn’t an actual one because he doesn’t have my crazy mind to remember, and right now my mind is gone because I’m pregnant) “our friends who got married last month had their first date in June. I remember they had pizza and went bowling. I took a bowling class several years ago in junior high and school got out in June so that’s how I remembered”.

I dont know many more people with blogs that haven't been tagged so I tag:
1. Tarl L.
2. Alissa C.
3. Teresa S.
4. Chelsea W.
